"The Grandmaster" masterfully utilizes the legendary story of Ip Man, Bruce Lee's teacher, as a vehicle to tell the history of martial arts. It's rich, lustrous, detailed, elegant --- just magnificent! The film title is also an apt description of Wong Kar Wai himself. He is a grandmaster of cinema! His films have this power to captivate and hypnotize an audience.
The cast is outstanding, the fight sequences: amazing, the photography is simply breathtaking!
