You know I love “Gravity”. And how much I want it
to sweep the Oscars on Sunday. While Sunday is still two storms and a couple of
more days away, what’s an Oscar junkie to do? Easy! Create this easy scoring
worksheet to determine in a more scientific way the probability of winning the
coveted trophy of each nominated film in the Best Picture race.
Important reminder. You should have seen all the
nine nominees to make your own result more meaningful and close to being
accurate as possible (according to yours truly, of course.) So, if you have
seen only a couple of movies, just consider this table a guide on what movies
to prioritize when you venture out into the cinemas or the corner video stores.
The scoring is easy. We assign a rating in each of
the 8 “basic” categories and apply them to the movies in the list. A score of 5
is highest while 1 is the lowest. I don’t expect anyone assigning any movie a 1
unless that person is really, really bitter! LOL!
My result? “GRAVITY” wins!
(Appeals for
a recount will be entertained after the Oscars on Sunday.)
