SBIFF 2015: Powerful Doc "Energizing Our World" to Premiere on Feb 1, 2015!

“Energizing Our World”, a full length and cinematically designed documentary narrated by Edward James Olmos and directed by Susan Sember will have its world premiere at the 30th Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 1, 2015 at 7PM at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. (With a second screening on February 3rd at 8:10AM, Metro 4 Theatre 2)

This powerful and thought provoking documentary features top industry leaders who have become strong advocates and bold change makers for a sustainable Earth. They seek new ways to capture the energy of the sun, wind and water; they harness the historical roots of early farmers to provide healthier food; they design apparel with natural fibers; and they build self-supporting communities. It is through their voices and stories that the audience is moved to join and contribute to the prospect and promise of a better world.

“Energizing Our World” is a film that is devoid of any political agenda. What it seeks is to spotlight important innovative changes concerning sustainability. It visually captures individuals, communities, and organizations from all over the world that have made a positive impact in many lives, adding long-term value well into the future. This dynamic documentary engages audiences on a global platform by highlighting environmental, architectural, water, energy and agricultural issues and by exploring solutions.

This documentary is focused on sustainability in areas of water, energy, agriculture and architecture.  There’s a transformational global movement of impassioned visionaries galvanizing forces for a planet in peril. Ideological and indigenous, they move forward with courage and conviction interweaving environmental stewardship with entrepreneurial innovation. Through their inspiring examples, these iconic figures also serve as the catalyst that gives this world hope for a sustainable and prosperous future. 

Production of the film had the team travel to Costa Rica, Spain, the Netherlands, California, New York and Georgia, armed with beautiful b-roll of each unique location, they embarked on a journey with many twists and turns from seaside, arid land, ports, canals, rain forests, ranches, cities, towns, to small city side farming.
